PROJECT HIGHLIGHTS: CHARLEROI LOCKS AND DAM
Construction of portions of new river wall using "in-the-wet" construction techniques for drilled shafts and mass concrete placement.
Our Role
Design of specialized lifting systems, work platforms, sheet piling, and other temporary structures during construction.
Construction Method and Specifications
McNary Bergeron assisted the contractor in developing a pre-cast chamber filling culvert system that is suspended below water during tremie concrete placement. The system consists of pre-cast concrete segments that are epoxy joined and post-tensioned together on temporary shoring prior to being lowered on PT bars into final position. McNary Bergeron provided expertise in concrete segment casting and post-tensioning similar to segmental bridge construction that is being adapted to the Contractors preferred construction methods.
